Session Symptoms

Last updated: March 19, 2026

Session symptoms are tags that indicate customer frustration -- like Rage Clicks, Refreshes, and Form Desertions. Symptoms indicate a customer is having trouble on your eCommerce site.

The Sessions list indicates each session's symptoms in the Session Symptoms column.

A session with multiple symptoms should be actioned quickly.  Noibu tracks 12 distinct session symptoms:

  • On-screen error: Indicates the user encountered on-screen error text, such as "unable to process" or "card declined"

  • Back Button: A session symptom. Indicates the user clicked the back button.

  • Broken Button: A session symptom. Indicates the user encountered a broken button.

  • Slow Session: A session symptom: Indicates first party requests took 5-12 seconds to complete.

  • Refresh: A session symptom. Indicates the user reloaded the page.

  • Rage Click: A session symptom. Indicates the user clicked the same button several times in a row.

  • Form Deserted: A session symptom. Indicates the user left the session without completing the form.

  • Multiple Payment Gateway: A session symptom. Indicates the user tried to pay with multiple payment options or tried to pay multiple times.

  • Broken Funnel Step: A session symptom. Indicates the user encountered a broken button that would otherwise trigger a funnel step.

  • Circular Navigation: A session symptom. Indicates the user is navigating in a circular path instead of making progress.

  • Declined Card: A session symptom. Indicates the user’s card was declined.

  • Contact for Help: A session symptom. Indicates the user visited the Contact Us page and may have contacted support for help.

Filtering sessions based on symptoms allows you to identify and review sessions with specific indicators of customer frustration. Additionally, symptoms can be used as filters on the Issues page to identify specific errors associated with session symptoms.
